| REVIEW GUIDELINES
Straylight publishes reviews of various sorts including poetry, fiction, criticism, and creative nonfiction. The review should be approximately 1,000 words and should include a critical discussion of the work and its objectives. Through an insightful assessment, the review should communicate how the work contributes to current attitudes towards its subject matter. The review should also provide informative and thought provoking comments concerning the content, quality, and organization of the piece.
All reviews must be submitted electronically as a Word document or Rich Text Format (.doc or .rtf).
Reporting time on queries and manuscripts is normally 4-6 weeks.
If you would like to see an example of the type of review that we are looking for, please visit our forums at the following address: http://straylightmag.com/boards/index.php?topic=154.0
Not all reviews will be included in the print journal, as we have limited space. However, most will be included in Straylight's online forums and web venues. Payment is is two contributor copies for reviews published in the print issue of Straylight.
We will consider reviews at anytime; however, the deadline for the spring 2009 edition is March 20th, 2009. Please submit queries via e-mail to Straylight@litspot.net, making sure to include “Review Query” in the subject line. Also be sure to include contact information with your submission.
